UHGD18* is an exhibition showcasing the work of 23 designers graduating from the University of Houston's Graphic Design BFA program.

The branding for this senior exhibition was designed with flexibility, motion and dynamism in mind in order to engage our audience across platforms and represent a studio that hosts a diversity of perspectives. It sought to balance functionality with expressiveness, and to represent this duality through high contrast and the combination of digital and analog forms. The branding sought to convey an appreciation of process, craft and critical thinking, while allowing for all of the brand elements to work together across platforms. The face of the brand, the asterisk, is a device used to indicate notation. It is used as a means of expressing the voice of the designer, as well as our individual perspectives. Our custom UHGD18* asterisk also symbolizes our design process and our transformation throughout our time in college.
